Rockport Fishing Report – January 12th, 2018

We are approaching the halfway point for the month of January and it's time for another Rockport fishing report. So far, the weather has still been the biggest story all along the Gulf Coast. Winter apparently feels the need to smack us around a bit more than normal this year. So this isn't exactly the rosiest of Rockport fishing reports. But it's not all bad either. We have still been trying to fight through a number of days with record low temperatures here on the Coastal Bend of Texas. We survived a very wet December, and even the first snow we had seen in years. But this brutal cold is

Rockport Fishing Report – January 3rd, 2018

Happy New Year to everyone and welcome to the first Rockport fishing report for the 2018 season. We are hoping that the new year ushers in a bit better weather that we ended last year with. We are in need of some change around here, and hopefully we will see it soon so our Rockport fishing report can improve a bit. December ended on a similar trend from our last report. Way too many cloudy days, windy days and brutal cold. We were able to pick and choose a few days in there, but they were fairly slim. Luckily, we could get out on the water for New Years

Rockport Fishing Report – December 25th, 2017

Merry Christmas to all, and welcome to our holiday Rockport fishing report. It's been a little bit too long since our last report. So we are going to try to get everyone caught up on what we have been seeing on the water here as of late. The biggest story for your Rockport fishing report as of late, has to be the weather. We've had a pretty crazy December here on the Texas Coast. We are more than 10 inches above our average rainfall for the month of December already. Add in on top of that a little snow as well. Totally crazy around here. And definitely a little more

Rockport Fishing Report – December 6th, 2017

Finally, we have your Rockport fishing report updated. We know we are a bit behind here. But the weather has been so damn good out there, that we just couldn't find the time off the water to make it happen. But as December has arrived, so has our first Winter storm of the year. So we find ourselves with a couple of down days, and plenty of time to get caught up on things like our Rockport fishing report. Our apologies for making you wait! The past two and half weeks have been absolutely outstanding. We had an impressive run of days with warm temps and light winds along the

Rockport Fishing Report – November 12th, 2017

Here is your Rockport fishing report for early November... We have had a few days of funky weather around here lately. Nothing too terrible really. But it hasn't been too great for fishing either. But we've been out there doing what we can, with what we are dealt. Some days it pays off, others... not so much. Today was no exception. Dark skies for most of the day, with a threat of rain here and there. Luckily, we managed to dodge that bullet. But spotting fish was tough in the low light. Not much for tailing fish as well. So it was a bit tricky today. We did manage a

Rockport Fishing Report – October 30th, 2017

Here is the final Rockport fishing report for the month of October. Fall weather is officially upon us in Rockport and the Coastal Bend of Texas. So for our final Rockport fishing report of the month, we will update everyone on the changes in the weather, tides and how the fish are behaving because of it. The biggest news since our last Rockport fishing report would have to be the tides and water levels. We have had extremely high tides post Harvey. This past week, that finally changed. We had our first real cold front of the Fall blow through last weekend. This brought us extremely high winds from the

Rockport Fishing Report – October 19th, 2017

A little later than planned, but finally your Rockport fishing report for mid October. It's starting to feel a little bit like Fall around here now... sort of. We are coming off of our first little weather from the North, which was nice. It brought with it some cooler air and a lot less humidity. All welcome changes. This wind from the North also helped blow a little bit of the water out of the bays. It is still very high every where, but a tiny bit better, compared to the last Rockport fishing report. This has also helped some of the water clear a little better too. So things

Rockport Fishing Report – October 3rd, 2017

Here is our first Rockport fishing report for the month of October. A lot of stuff going on these days on the Coastal Bend of Texas and Rockport. So we will try to keep everyone up to speed a bit, and even talk a bit of fishing for this Rockport fishing report! First off... Our home of Rockport, and other coastal towns, are continuing to get better. Little by little and day by day, things are on the mend. There is still plenty of work to be done, but progress is being made for sure. So this is a positive. We would also like to remember all of our friends

Rockport Fishing Report – September 3rd, 2017

Welcome to your first Rockport fishing report for September. Well, a report of sorts lets say. Maybe not so much on the fishing aspect of things these days. But we wanted to get something current up here and share a little information about the situation(s) at hand. Obviously everyone knows of the devastation to Rockport, Texas and many of our neighboring communities as well. Many of the towns along the Coastal Bend of Texas have been affected. But certainly Rockport has taken a direct hit. It truly has been very hard to see, and at the same time inspiring. Neighbors, well wishers and Texans have poured into the community in

Rockport Fishing Report – August 22nd, 2017

It's time for your late'ish August Rockport fishing report. The dog days of Summer are certainly upon us. Although the fishing has been pretty solid lately, despite the heat. But that doesn't mean we aren't glad to see August going, and September/October right behind it. Though the days have remained pretty darn warm, our water temps are actually a little better than they were during our last reports. So this has made for plenty of fish that are still willing to cooperate with us... most days. That being said, morning are still the program. The afternoons are still much tougher. So we have been doing our best to avoid them.
