Rockport Fishing Report – January 20th, 2017

After another pretty good week, here is an up to the minute Rockport fishing report for everyone. We weren't able to get out on the water every day with a bit of weather, but are finishing the week strong. Weather is improving, and so should our Rockport fishing report for the coming week. After a bit of stormy weather early in the week, we finally got a bit of a break. A few morning showers would linger a while, then give way to decent conditions in the afternoons. This made for some pretty good fishing, coming out of the storms. Plenty of fish moving around looking for food. Today (Friday)

Rockport Fishing Report – January 15th, 2017

Here is your mid January Rockport fishing report for Rockport, Texas and surrounding waters. With the first couple weeks of 2017 in the books already, we are already well on our way through the winter months here in Rockport and on the Texas Coast. Before you know, our temps will start warming up again. But until then, your Rockport fishing report is still in winter mode. The fishing the past week was pretty good. We had 6 straight days of heavy winds. This made for some tough sledding out there. But hats off to our brave folks who toughed it out each and every day this week, and caught some

Rockport Fishing Report – January 6th, 2017

Time for your weekend Rockport fishing report for the first week of 2017. And what better do we have to do, since the weather outside complete sucked today! And tomorrow isn't looking much better. But there is hope, and blue skies, on the horizon. Fishing this past week was outstanding. We had 3 days of completely warm and flat calm weather. It made for some excellent fishing. Aaron, pictured above, would completely agree. He and his father were in town for four days of fishing. Three of them were dead calm and blue skies. The other had a few clouds and manageable North wind. But there were more fish to

Rockport Fishing Report – January 1st, 2017

After slacking for most of the holidays, we are finally getting around to updating our Rockport fishing report. Nothing like ushering in the new year, with a little current information on what we are seeing out there as of late. So here is your first Rockport fishing report of 2017! The fishing has been very good. The weather, maybe not as much. So we are having you kind of pick and choose our days over the past two weeks. But when the weather cooperated, the fishing was very good. We managed to get out at least 4 days each week the past couple of weeks, despite a little funky weather

Rockport Fishing Report – December 5th, 2016

Welcome to your first Rockport Fishing Report for December. We have had a pretty good storm system moving through the past three or four days. This brought with it much cooler temps, wind and some rain. But things started to turn around this afternoon. Tomorrow looks like it could be "the day" to be out there. Sunny, warmer and little to no wind in the forecast. So we are hoping that there are a bunch of hungry fish moving in behind this storm. The fishing the days leading up to the storm, which amounted to most of last week, was outstanding. We were seeing school after school of fish each

Rockport Fishing Report – November 18th, 2016

As promised, an up to date Rockport fishing report to lead you into the weekend! So here is what we saw earlier this week, upcoming for the weekend and beyond. The past week of fly fishing in Rockport was absolutely EPIC! Sunny skies, perfect temps and little to no wind were the norm each day. We were seeing tails every morning and plenty of fish cruising around throughout the day. And almost all were more than willing to eat for us. We also saw a good number of very large fish in a few spots. Over slot fish were the norm each day, but we also had a few real

Rockport Fishing Report – November 13th, 2016

Here goes, for your Rockport fishing report for early November. The good news is, we finally had a decent storm blowing out of the North. It was long over due. This will help settle some of the color in the water and blow more of the water out of the bays. All of this much needed, as mentioned in our last Rockport fishing report. So this is really good news. We had a few days of fairly stiff wind from the North. Not much for cold or rain, which was fine. But plenty of wind. So we were on the water straight through it all, with decent success. Certainly the

Rockport Fishing Report – October 28th, 2016

Your Rockport fishing report for October 28th is pretty damn good! We are seeing, and catching, a bunch of fish every day. The weather has been great. Sun shining, low wind and good temps have made being out on the water very enjoyable lately. Fly fishing in Rockport, and the surrounding areas, is very good. The water is still pretty high though. This has some spots a little off color. Especially with the right wind. But nothing that will shut you down at all. Just a bit of color here or there. The higher water still has fish spread out a fair bit. But again, not a problem at all.

Rockport Fishing Report – October 20th, 2016

Your Rockport fishing report for mid October is all about change. Or at least we hope so. But it is looking like we have a little change in the weather, which should shake things up around here a little bit. Fishing in Rockport, and the surrounding area, is decent right now. It really should be better. But it isn't bad. Just a bit tougher than expected. High water and very consistent weather has created a little more color in the water than we are used to. Again, not bad by any means. But it is there and can make things a bit more challenging. The high water has the fish

Rockport Fishing Report – September 11th, 2016

Welcome to your first September Rockport fly fishing report. Fly fishing here in the Rockport area remains good. The fish are there, especially in the mornings. As the days warm up, they can be a bit tougher. There have been some very warm, calm days as of late. This can make for tough fishing later in the days, and unbearable conditions for the angler. But, Fall is just around the corner! And with it, our best fishing of the year. First to come, a series of insignificant fronts. But they tend to rid the air of stifling humidity, make the early evening a bit cooler, set up some terrific sunsets
