Welcome to the final Rockport Fishing Report for the month of October. Fall fishing is some of our favorite, and best of the year. We’ve finally get the heat of Summer outta here and things are a lot nicer out there these days. So let us fill you in on what we are seeing out there on the Texas flats right now. Here we go!
The past week or so has fished well. We did have a couple of days with weather that either kept us off the water altogether, or made it pretty darn tough out there. But that was short lived. Just dealing with a couple of front passing through that put the fish off a little bit. But that was short lived. Later in the week things picked up again and we were right back where we are supposed to be this time of year… really good fishing.
Our guides have been fishing all over the place these days. It’s been good everywhere. POC, Port A and even further South. The fishing has been really solid everywhere.
Fly selections haven’t changed much. Fish are eating pretty much everything. But darker crab flies are always a fan fave. And fish are moving big distances to eat em. But if you prefer shrimpy type stuff, that is just fine as well. They’re gone eat it if they see it.
And as always, you can check out a few of our favorite flies here.
We have boats out every day this time of year. But still have the ability to get you out on the water.
