Here is another Rockport fishing report for the week. Apparently someone decided to hack into the site and mess with the blog function. So we apologize if anyone has come looking for info and not been able to find it. On the brighter side though, the Rockport fishing reports are coming more frequently while we work this mess out.
This weekend fished well. Temps continue to be nice and warm, which is great. But the wind the past couple days was a bit brutal. Had to work a little bit to get it done out there. But the fish were still there. So all went well. The mornings fished the best the past couple of days. From 7am to about 9:30am were great each day. Certainly the winds were lightest in the morning hours. But the fish were happiest as well. There were lots of tailing fish each of the past few mornings. Made for quite a few targets, despite some foggy morning weather.
Crab patterns are far and away outfishing everything else we’ve been throwing. Dark colors have been best. But swimming your favorite baitfish pattern over the grass has worked well too. Especially where its very shallow and the fish are swimming with their backs out of the water. They were more than happy to chase a baitfish pattern around, instead of losing a crab in the grass.
We have a little weather coming for Monday and Tuesday this coming week. But all is well after that. Looking like a lot of sun and warm weather next week as well. We will keep you informed and keep the Rockport fishing report up to date this coming week. And of course folks can always follow along on Instagram or Facebook for the very latest news. We try to post something most every day there. Or of course you can email any time for additional info or ask about what we did that day.
There are still some February dates available to fish. And again, Spring dates have been filling up very quickly. But the winter fishing has been good. So if you are interested in getting out on the water, contact us soon so you can secure your dates on the calendar.
