The weather is still name of the game for this Rockport fishing report. It continues to be pretty random… at best. We have been stuck in the middle of some solid thunderstorms for the better part of a week now. We are getting breaks here and there, but most are hard to predict. The forecast will be one thing, and you end up with a pretty solid window for an afternoon. Again, random.
Along with that, there is a lot of water in all the bays right now. So as we seek shelter from the winds, we are finding fish deep. We are looking as far back in the mangroves as we can. Or in all the tidal lakes as well. Just keep pushing back, because they are in there. A little more scattered this past week, but they are there.
It is looking like the weather will finally begin to improve for the remainder of this week and into the weekend. So we’ll see how the fish will respond. But sunnier skies, low winds and good temps are on the way. And we are looking forward to it!
There are still some dates in May available. But they are getting snatched up pretty quickly. If you are interested in chasing redfish on the fly in the Rockport area, contact us and we can get your Early Summer trip booked.
