Finally a break in the weather! And the Texas fly fishing in Rockport is back on track. Today was the first day in a long run of nice days coming up. And maybe the first day we have seen the sun in well over a week. Kind of a nice bonus, while Texas fly fishing.
With the sun coming out today, so did the fish. First thing in the morning we found a couple small schools of tailing reds. They were eating and eating well. After hooking one, we moved on to search a few grass flats. We found plenty of fish to throw at. And if you were able to place your cast in the right spot, they were more than willing to eat. A lovely change from the past week of rain, clouds and wind.
Overall, Texas fly fishing in the Rockport area is looking good. With the sun and warmer weather, I would expect some very good days of fishing ahead.
